The last hardware I purchased from nintendo were a Gamecube and GB Advance I really don't know what is available in regards to games.

I'm thinking about getting a 3DS. I know about the new first party games, but are the older NES and SNES games that I've seen available for the Wii also available for the 3DS through download?

As of now, NES games are only available to those in the 3DS Ambassador Program. Ie, those who bought a 3DS before the summer price drop. Hopefully, more will come eventually. The 3DS Virtual Console currently has a few original Gameboy and Gameboy Color games.

As for must haves...
-Ocarina of Time 3D
-Super Mario 3D Land
-Starfox 64 3D
-Devil Survivor Overclocked
-Mario Kart 7 (not out yet)

I got the Zelda OoT bundle today. For 3 DS games I am looking at SM 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 along with the upcoming Luigi's Mansion 2. I am looking for some DS or downloadable game suggestions. I am thinking of:

Zelda PH
Zelda ST
Chrono Trigger
Final Fantasy 4

What else would be worth looking at?

I think the 3DS is about to get a "relaunch" soon, given the awful decision to add a second joystick add-on.

Really, I think Nintendo is done with home consoles. They need to go software only at this point.

The wii U is going to fail hard. The fact that using two controllers for multiplayer was an after thought to Nintendo, is pretty damn telling.

Yes, they should pull a Sega and give me Zelda on the Xbox 720.
