I have a P5N-E SLI with E6300 (OC to 2.625 GHz), 2GB OCZ DDR2-800 in an Antec Solo with 120mm Yate Loon exhaust, SeaSonic S12-430 PSU (HDDs Raptor, Seagate; DVD-R Samsung). I put a Noctua NC-U6 on the NorthBridge, and want to upgrade my CPU HSF from the Sunbeam Silent Whisper.

My two top candidates are the Ninja and the Kingwin RVT-12025 (rebadged Xigmatek S-1283). Any comments or suggestions?

Both are good coolers but, for not much more any of the major C2D over clockers here will recommend the Tuniq Tower. Will layout nice in that case. Is your PSU an S12-2 or an S12-3?

Thought about the Tuniq, but I didn't like the funky midships fan.

My PSU is a straight S12-430. Bought it about a year ago. I'm not familiar with the -2 or -3 variants.

I'm inclining toward the Kingwin in part because it won't loom over my memory slots like the Ninja.

Yeah the fan in the middle is odd but, can't argue with what works, if taint broke leave it lone. Quite frankly there are three things to consider when looking for a HSF, performance, silence and price. If you can settle on an acceptable level for two, it'll pretty much give you the third.

Just wondering about the PSU, i've got an older s12-600 and have had great luck with it but am looking for comparisons to teh newer revisions the II and III.

I ordered the Kingwin Sunday night, Directron shipped it Monday. I also went to Sidewinder for another TR Bolt-Through kit (for when I reuse my Sunbeam) and some AS Alumina adhesive, also shipped Monday. I'll likely wait until this weekend to change hardware, so it'll be sometime next week before I have any results to report.
