I'm accumulating quite a collection of NiMH rechargeables - some newer, many older. How do I test each batteries maximum capacity? I tired of finding out when using the digicam.

That's the theoretical capacity brand new. I'm talking about old batts . . .

With an expensive smart charger that costs more than 5 sets of new batteries would.
Good point. So how long do you keep your NiMH batteries?

Until they don't hold a charge anymore.

My Powerex 2200mAh finally died after ~4 years.. 🙁 Need some new ones.

You don't need an uber expensive charger to get one that will measure capacity.
