nimh batteries

i've been using radio shack nimh AA batts for my cd player, but i'm wondering if there's something better.

i've heard that the sanyo's are pretty good, and the maha's... but i haven't seen any definitive conclusion... what are your opinions?

and thomas distributing looks pretty cheap, any other places i should look into buying from? thanks.

just look for batteries with the highest mAh rating on them.

1600s are sweet

you can try rechargeable alkaline batts, although they can only be recharged no more than 25 times, which leads to high cost on the long run.

oh i'm sorry, i didn't meen better as in battery technology, i meant better as in battery brand. i think i'm going to get the maha 1700's... hehe... 4 for 15.50!

I hear that Powerex and Maha are both highly regarded NiMH brands. Shop around and check out Thomas Distributing and Sunn Battery. Sunn Battery sells NiMH batteries and batteries with kits on eBay for very competitive prices. There were two great NiMH threads in the Hot Deals forum, one of which is archived but the other got lost in cyberspace they were both filled with lots of useful information.

bah, screw the 1700s... i'm getting the 1550's (which have been consistently rated at 1650)... the 5 buck price difference in 4packs just isn't enough to justify it for me. besides... my cd player can run 72 hours on alkalines

edit: and they come with free holders!

I use Maha Cells in my digital camera and they are excellent. Thomas Dist. is definately the place to buy them, they always seem to have great prices.
