Oregon is as wind energy friendly as it gets. But we put our turbines out in the middle of desolate wheat fields, not directly off a scenic stretch of coastline.

Surely you don't think when we say "we need to do something!" that we mean do something that impacts the important people right??? We mean do something that only impacts the gullible masses, flyover country or something. Now, I'm late for my flight on my private carbon-emissions-spewing jet ;)

Well, considering this was supposed to be an offshore wind farm, I don't see how that applies unless you've got floating barges planted with wheat moored off Coos Bay or something.

The article said it wasn't directly off the coast, it was far enough out that the windmills would be a speck on the horizon.

Cape Wind spokesperson Mark Rodgers acknowledges they did not meet a December 31 construction deadline, which prompted the contract terminations, but Rodgers says the delay was unavoidable. He blames the Alliance for stymieing Cape Wind's progress by delaying its construction through regulatory and court battles. And he includes in that blame the Alliance's greatest support, businessman Bill Koch, who'd be able to see the turbines from the windows of his Cape Cod vacation home.
Damn liberal greenies.

Damn liberal greenies.

There is no hypocrisy in Koch opposing it, he's always opposed that stuff, and obviously more so when it impacts him personally. The hypocrisy lies with the supposedly greenies that preach sustainable and wind to everyone, but then oppose it when it is near them.

I can't imagine anybody wanting to live anywhere near the damn things. They are starting to pop up all over Wisconsin and are an absolute blight on the environment. Once beautiful areas of Wisconsin are now eyesores. I don't why they just don't put them all in Illinois, it is nothing but cornfields anyways.
