I think this is a hot deal. For 20$ at Kragen's web site (PartsAmerica.com). But I also saw an ad today in the paper showing it for sale at 16.99, so maybe in stores the price is even lower. If you buy it online I assume there is shipping to pay as well.

Specs are 120V, 60Hz, 1 Amp, variable speed 8k-30k. I would have picked one up but I already have something like it.

How does this compare to similar tools made by Dremel or Black & Decker? I'm not familiar with the Nikota brand.

this tool normally sells for 30$ or thereabouts as seen hereand here. It's probably not as quality as a dremel, but I'm sure it works fine.

The specs are similar to that of a dremel

The #395 dremel is 120V, 50-60Hz, and 1.15 amps. I'm not sure how much difference the .15 amps makes. Volts times Amps = Watts, so the Nikota is 120 Watts and this Dremel is 138 Watts. So the dremel is lighter, more powerful, and more expensive.

I have a generic brand multitool with similar specs as this Nikota and it works just fine. But I wish I had a saw hole I could use for making circle cut outs for my computer case. It took me 5 or 6 hours do a 4" diameter hole with my multitool, but I hear that is pretty standard. If you are being careful it's going to take some time.

It is well worth the money to get a Hole saw. Using a 4" Hole saw for a "regular" drill, you can make the hold in a matter of a minute or two; depending upon the case material. One can be had for under $20 at most hardware stores. Just make sure it is rated for use on soft metal and plastics and not one for wood only.
