Nikon lenses on Lumix 4/3 bodies?

I'm thinking about the new Lumix DC-G9 four thirds camera for digiscoping. However, I don't want to buy a camera that is only good for digiscoping and don't feel like buying new lenses. I have a couple Nikon lenses, 105 macro VR and a 24-85 VR zoom, that I would like to use with the Lumix. Looking at adapters, they are all over the place in price. Has anyone here tried one and if so, how was the experience? Did all features of the lenses work?

The Dc-G9 uses a micro 4/3 mount so a Nikon lens documentary directly. I think there are adapters but I have no idea how well they work.

I used one of those $25 m43->Nikon mounts with my Olympus OMD a couple of times; I imagine they would work similarly for Panasonic.

Didn't have AF, didn't have metering, I think I controlled aperture with the adapters manual ring.
Remember that m43 will have a 2x "zoom" on your lenses - so your 105 will give you 210, and your 24-85 will be ~48->170mm.

If I were you, and you're set on the G9, I'd be sure to get it with whatever the kit lens is (if they have a package.)
Using the adapters, while delivering good results, takes a lot of work. Unless you're doing landscape and don't need speed. But then you need an extremely wide lens (say, 14mm) before you can get a modestly wide 28.
