Nikon D70

I'm looking at getting a Nikon D70 with some Christmas cash and some saving.. Anyone know of any good deals or the best place to buy one cheap at? Thanks!

Be careful - the CHEAPEST places that advertise are place like Abes of Maine, or 47st Photo, that have some bad feedback from people that have purchased. There are ALSO a number of scams running of Amazon.com for that camera and the Canon Rebel XT - but ONLY if you buy from an affiliate, not Amazon itself. And of course, ebay is always caveat emptor on photo equipment.

I would use B&H Photo in NYC, NewEgg, or Amazon - each of which will not be the absolute lowest, but definately the most reliable. B&H also may have packages with with that body and upgraded lenses, which may interest you as well, and they also sell nearly ALL of the accessory equipment, unlike most online shops. I've purchased several digitals and videocams from them, and have visited their main store in NYC many times...

I think I have heard of B&H before, I think I'll check them out... It's quite a big buy for me considering my financial situation, but I would like probably an extra nice lens to use.. Just some of the pictures I see people taking with these cameras amaze me, I feel like I'm missing out with my pissant Coolpix 750 or whatever it is! lol 😀

I've also been considering buying a lens from B&H or Amazon. I've purchased other items from Amazon before, but nothing from B&H. Both have the Canon 50mm f/1.8 II lens that I want for $69.95 and the local camera shop wants close to $100 for it.

I've just been looking at some of the Canon and Nikon packages with lenses in them.... Man do I wish I had 1500 bucks I'd get myself something sweet! I'll have to save up a while to get one of these cameras, or at least sell some stuff haha.

I believe eCost has some good deals on that camera once in a while. They are legit. I've bought from them many times before.

If you don't mind used, you can also try the fredmiranda.com for sale forum.

Keep in mind that if the body and lens package costs $1500 you'll end up paying quite a bit more once you add on memory card, extra battery, camera bag, a couple of filters, external flash, long lens, tax, etc. I bought the Digital Rebel with kit lens about a year and half ago on sale for $900. By the time I left the store the total was closer to $1500. The D70 is a really nice camera BTW. A lot of the guys at iPhotoForum use it to take shots like THIS.

I've heard good things about fredmiranda.com, but I don't think I'd ever buy used unless I knew the person and how they took care of their equipment.

Considering all of the D70s out there afflicted with the BLOD, you'd be crazy to go cheap on a D70.

Last thing you need is for Nikon to not honor the free repair because your camera is grey market or not purchased from an authorized retailer.

Get the best price from a reputable retailer, absolutely. But don't go off the beaten path looking for the hottest price; in the end, you'll get burned.

Check BuyDig.com and BeachPhoto.com, same site, sometimes different prices...

VERY reputable dealer, bought my D70 from them in Feb then just last week. EXCELLENT COMPANY!
