It has a built in flash but it sucks.

Whatever you get, make sure it supports the latest TTL system (I think ATTL or something like that).

EDIT: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bn...;sku=323882&is=USA

And its i-TTL

how much does it suck? i want to do action shots in a gym or outside in natural light, is a speedflash a must?

if so, i might be leaning towards a digital rebel for cost reasons now

i'm guessing the flashes on botht he 300d and the d70 are similiar in strength (weakness) but i'm guessing they will serve your needs 🙂

A decent Canon flash is money too. Just know that either way you will need a flash for anything but basic photography.

This is what I bought for my EOS.

the built in flash is PEWRFECTLY FINE for most things, you only need to but a speedlight if you do A LOT of flash work in bad light

and if your gonna get one spend teh money and get a SB-600 or SB-800
