This is a screaming deal if you are looking for a prosumer full frame DSLR. The Nikon D600 has been generally regarded as an excellent "entry-level" full frame DSLR at the $2K price point. Adorama is, today, selling the body with a Nikon 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5G ED AF-S VR lens, 32GB Class 10 SDHC card, LowePro case, spare battery, external battery charger, remote trigger, Nikon WiFi mobile adapter, and cleaning kit for $1,996. This is the same price as the body only, and the lens alone is normally sold for $600. The kit price, minus all those goodies, has been $2,699 since the camera came out a few months ago.

Get an additional 1% off by going through Ebates.

Amazon is matching the price but their bundle includes just the camera and lens.

it's 35 mm darn it! resist the branding of a century old standard!

how does canon think they're competing with this? i ain't got money but if i did and if i wanted a 35 mm camera, this would probably be it.

So this or the 6D? Don't care for AF because I'd rather take pictures without aid of the processor inside.

For me it's just showing no bag and free ground shipping. Still a hell of a deal. It doesn't seem possible to me that Nikon could just be lowering the price of this camera to $2K for the kit when it's better reviewed than its Canon competition at the prior price point, but maybe that's what they're doing. Seems hard to believe, though.

I hope they fix the "sensor dust" issue with the D600's... looks like they really needed to move the inventory..

Wow - that is also a fantastic deal. I am consoling myself for taking the Adorama deal with the knowledge that I'd have to pay sales tax at Costco, adding another $200 to that price (plus I am getting the remote control and extended warranty at Adorama). I think if I were in a state where I'd have to pay tax regardless, I'd spend the extra money for the Costco deal.

Mine came yesterday but it is defective - it will not focus in Live View, not will it shoot continuously in any continuous shutter mode. The return is complicated somewhat because I have not received all the kit items yet - ugh! We shall see.
