If you want to pixel-peep at full resolution, visit the first link and scroll down to the ISO test. They also have other intermediate ISO images (200, 400, 800) available.

To me, it looks like adding EXSPEED made a noticeable difference; the difference between ISO 100 and 1600 is a very very small loss of detail, and the grain looks film-like. Even ISO 3200 looks usable out of camera for small prints. A little post-processing (smart-sharpen + noise-reduction filter) would dress them up nicely.
 
Wow that looks pretty good. That ISO3200 looks better than a D50's ISO1600 (though comparison shots with older models would have been nice).
 
looking at the bunny's ears, i can hardly see any loss of detail between ISO 100 and ISO 1600. And ISO 3200 still procudes a highly usable picture. Kudos Nikon. Also IMO, Nikon makes the best looking cameras.
 
I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but not withstanding, here is what the Canon 5D has been able to do with ISO for over a couple of years.

The scene is exactly the same in all. Camera was on a low tripod, and all I did was change the ISO for each shot.

We had a winter storm yesterday, and the sun just returned. Nice!

 
corkyg, the 5D is undoubtedly a very nice camera. But the 5D is couple levels higher than the D60 and costs significantly more. Not saying that 450D (etc) ISO performance isnt upto par, that remains to be seen when the reviews come out, but it's nice to see this level of ISO performance from entry level DSLRs
