Nikon CoolPix 885 - Anyone Have Opinions?

Hello all,

I am looking at the Nikon CoolPix 885 for myself. It will be an allaround camera, used for just about everything. Does anyone have an experience/opinions/objections?

Thanks!

No but I have the 775 Coolpix, nice little camera, the only thing I don't like is the cheapy flash they put on it for indoor shots.

I'm looking for digital camera myself.

I like Canon G2. Nice lens and fast. Take good picture at night. Take outstanding picture @ 4.1MP
It is hard to find. Cost ranging from $700-799.

Lens can be removable. There is a flash hot shoe so you can add external flash if you want more detail.

Jack - I owned the 885 last year and took some gorgeous shots with it with little effort. Its a great little point and shoot. I currently own a G2 and an s30, but feel Nikon makes a fine camera and has a great lens for a small camera. Note that the 885 is a bit on the elderly side, but still a fine choice. Ifeel the s30 is a better deal at around $400, but either camera will make you happy. I prefer the s30 becasue it has slightly better manual modes, but the 885 is a lot lighter. If you are looking for a light pocketable cam the 885 will be fine. I can email you pics from each if you'd like.
