If you don't mind spending a little bit more for a bunch of advance features, like USB, 6x total zoom, rechargable NP-FM50 InfoLITHIUM powerpack, 2 inch LCD, and the use of your camera to double as a compact mpeg1 motion video camera, I'd go for the Sony DSC-S50 for $566-$100= $466 total
