Nikon Coolpix 775 for $215, or Canon A40 for $300?

Give me your opinions on these two cameras... thinking of returning the Coolpix to get the Canon. Reviews have been great/good, and so-so for the Coolpix, but I think I've only read great reviews from the Canon A40... Should I return my 775 and get the A40?....

i like the nikon coolpix 775. but if you think the other one is better go for it. have you tried it out at a store yet?

I got a 775 also and love it....great price too btw.

Had an A40 for a day and did not like it.

i have had a 775 since they first came out. I paid $350 back then and got a SMOKING deal

It is a great camera, i love it.

I've played with almost every camera on the market, and although the A40 is nice, and takes nice pictures, it's way too.... plastic. It sounds stupid, but it feels and looks like a toy, so I can't enjoy using or even owning something like it. I'm a fan of the build quality of the nikon cameras, and although they are plastic as well, the just feel better. Stick with what you've got!

up- starting to think that spending an extra $85 isn't worth it...

though the sharpness of the pictures are better in the a40 compared to the 775, seeing pictures from dpreview.com... but may not matter too much to me. dunno
