NIKON COOLPIX 5400 5.1 MEGAPIXEL DIGITAL CAMERA $184.00 AR

Same here. Shows up as $239AR, but it's still a good price. I seriously considered this one before going with the 5200 because I decided I needed a smaller camera a few months ago. Great unit all around though, and even the $239's a good deal on it.

Compuplus is a trusted vendor, I've been buying computer hardware from them for 5 years already. If you dont want to go thru the rebate hassel, Costco has this camera for $299 after instant $200 instant rebate (will not qualify for another $200 MIR)

Ghettocowboy - you saw the 5400 (not the 5200) at Costco for $299? I only ask 'cause I couldn't find it on their website (but did see the 5200 for $350 - presumably has a $50 rebate, an overpriced 3700 w/$100 MIR, a 4200, and an 8700.) If it was a 5400, that would be cool not to shell out $430+ to wait for a $200 rebate, or worry about delivery. (Although it is a Nikon rebate, and it is always tempting as less is often more.)

EDIT ADDED: BestChoiceDigital link above that's not working - I'd pass:
Vendor's ResellerRatings

in store only $499 minus $200 instant rebate< I wonder if costco is authorized dealer, so I can get some money on rebate, costco return policy is great

do not buy Nikons from IBUYDIGITAL . com
as they are NOT authorized resellers
they link to rebates on Nikon site -
real resellers have the reabte forms on their websites

from NIKON:

"you MUST purchase it from one of the retailers on our where to buy list, as those are the only dealers that can issue rebate forms "

for busmaster11 - see above 'our' is NIKON

go to nikon website - type in first 3 digits of zip code and they list real resellers, not all the stores in brooklyn are shady outfits. Or you may end up with a $400 camera that you did not want at $400 and a rejection from Nikon. They real websites have the reabate forms and you download them from the site. The shady stores have a LINK to NIKON for the rebates. Nikon told me that for the D70 - they will not host the rebate form on NIKON.
