Nikon buying Samsung camera division?

So speculations are circulating that Nikon had bought/will buy Samsung's camera division. Yes, Samsung does make interchangeable lens cameras. They actually have been before Sony came out with their NEX line.

If this is true then it certainly explains why Samsung has pulled their cameras from many global markets and been stagnant with new camera and lens development for some time now.

I'm sure Canon isn't just sitting idle with their mirrorless ILC development but this will quickly give Nikon some serious tech to add on to their existing Nikon 1 system. Exciting times ahead.

Dude. A mirroless body with the NX1 sensor with a Nikon F-mount would answer my prayers.

Go Go Nikon !

Currently have Sony A6000, but if Nikon were to release a compact mirrorless body. I'd switch in a hurry. Hope this news is true...

I've been shooting Nikon for a while.. love their cameras but there are 2 things I don't like.. recent quality control with cameras that're made in Thailand. And their software and controls are too complicated in the age where a 2 year old with an iphone can take a decent photo.

To be fair,
1. Canon has had their share of QA issues in the past couple of years.
2. Any DSLR is "more complicated than an iPhone".

True. I love my ff DSLR.. would never trade it in for something inferior now that I've seen the dark side.

That said some just don't get cameras. I had a friend who asked me what's the best camera for this much money.. I told her.. later she told me she hates it.. she can't figure out all the controls. :\
