maybe cuz its from the apparel store, thats why they charge tax? ive never had tax either

yeah thats so true, almost all the new designs are super fugly. To me, its like the sneaker companies are laughing hysterically, and having a contest as to who can make the ugliest sneaker and sells well.

Yes it isn't the pretties shoe in the world but if you are buying shoes to "use" them then this is a good buy despite the styling.

i bought these shoes last summer. i read the review before i got them. the review was right on the money. the shoes arent the greatest for ankle support. i was running down the court and i suffered a rollover. nothing too bad, but i cant imagine how bad it would have been to step/land on someone else's foot. however the price is really cheap. if you go over to www.eastbay.com and check out the finalscore section, they have really big clearances. checkout the bromium3 ($40) and the shox for $50. those are really good prices on those shoes.

Footlocker has the Air Griffey Shox G7 for $49.99 I believe. 3 different colors..I own the Navy/White/Silver ones (paid more than 49 bux for them ,too) and they're probably the 2nd best pair of shoes I've ever owned. They're my current everyday shoe. Only the legendary Air Nomo Max trainer (95) was a better shoe, IMO.

i got these shoes before for team basketball shoes... not bad... although everyone called them ice cream cone shoes... it actually doesnt look that bad... but yea.. feels prtty good.... but that is also tru.. bad ankle support... more of a big man/post type of shoe...

the shox are the uglex shoes ive ever seen. when i was wondering how ugly can they actually be, nike never disappoints me in that section.

I actually left Anandtech for a while and started participating in Sneaker forums. Its funny how ppl knock the Shox. I agree I didn't like them at first. Thought they were just fugly....but then the VC's really do deserve the reviews they get. Awesome shoe to play ball in. For indoor ball, I 'll only wear my Foamposites, Ultraposites, or VCs now.

VCs on sale for $50 at footlocker or eastbay. While I dont recommend wearing them on the street, can't beat the quality/price on the court.

As for the Air Sig Player, no foamposite technology here, i'd pass...even for $30...spend a little more and get a much better shoe in the VC.
