I've been trying to find this answer to this question for quite a while now. Does anybody know if the Nike + Apple Sport kit running thing will work with the Ipod Video, or only with the Nano. Don't know why the heck it wouldn't, but I am curious cause the site says only the nano. Don't want to have to buy another friggin Ipod. quit screwing me, apple.

thanks

ok well the connector should be exactly the same. i don't see why it would only work with one over the other
it's not just the connector that is necessary. there is a software update that's required and it's offered only for the nano (v1.2).

Most runners prefer flash-based MP3 players such as the Nano. They're lighter and there's less risk of damage/failure than with HD-based players.

the iPod video was not made for running. Apple didn't want to make it compatible with the Nike+ sensor as they'd be getting calls about hard drive failures left and right.

It really comes down to apple not wanting to get sued over failing ipod videos that will have dead harddrives after a few jog sessions. Acutally the Nike + rocks, It was THE reason I bought the nano. Being able to track the information and set goals has kept me motovated to run thus far.
