Or the other way it actually looks like it might be spelled to be...
Neh-hill-ism.

I don't like the way the first one sounds. It sounds stupid for the way it is spelled.

I don't usually think of that line from the movie when I think of the word nihilist in relation to that movie.

Not sure why you link that dictionary site, when it provides 2 4-syllable pronunciations, not your 3-syllable one. Anyway, their first pronunciation (nahy-uh-liz-uhm) is the one I would use.
