Night Watch

I saw it on Netflix Watch Instantly after seeing the trailer for Day Watch (the sequel). Not bad for a movie with a $4 million dollar budget. The CG is top-notch. If you can ignore the huge, gaping, goatse-sized plot holes, it's fairly gripping too. Acting is competent and the visual design shows occasional flashes of brilliance in a movie which could have easily turned into the Russian rip-off of Ghostbusters. Love that crap they did with the subtitles too.

The Day Watch trailer is incomprehensibly badass. And I mean incomprehensibly literally. You will not understand it at all. But fuck it looks pretty.

So Day Watch is the sequel for Night Watch? Or vice-versa?

I've seen the trailers for these and they looked sort of interesting. Doubt they'd be at the local Family Video though...

Day Watch ( 2006 ) is a notch above okay in my book.
I have been trying to get Night Watch ( 2004 ) at Blockbuster but
it has been on "very long wait" for over a month.

So is Day Watch any better than Night Watch? And don't they have plans for a third film, to create a trilogy? If so, anyone have any news as to whether other books from the series will be brought into the story then? As even though the second book was titled Day Watch, the film of the same name I guess is still pretty much constrained to the first book.

2 Good movies with some killer effects. I own both! There will be a 3rd titled, "Dawn Watch" I believe.

Should be Dusk Watch then, as the third book is named (Sumerechnyj Dozor)
Don't know how it reads in translation, but the books are A+++ and are way better than the movies. There is a 4th book out as well, Last Watch

You are correct, Twilight is correct translation for Sumerki
