From what I hear, Russians are inexplicably in love with this novel series or whatever but the movie was pretty dull.

also played at the tribeca film festival....it was ok. the director came up and said it wasn't a movie about good vs evil....but it obviously is....the movie is very messy, but the subtitle work was pretty cool

Ohh, common guys what are you talking about? The movie was exelent: the setting, the actors everything contributed very well to the whole picture. The movie also won an award for the best special effects of 2004. Yes the ending was kind of unconclusive but thats only because the second movie is coming out soon.
