I didn't like that game. It was too simple to be an accurate poverty sim, and it tried to send me to facebook.

plus the fact that something bad happens just about every day. Need root canal, get a ticket, get in a car wreck...

yes, things happen, but not that often.

My health insurance was only $80 when I was younger. It's not even close to the high price they have on there at my current age. I'd also rent a room instead of a place for myself. That would be half the cost. I stopped past that because it's ridiculous.

But that also proves why people fail so much who make less. They buy the very most they possibly can and live paycheck to paycheck. Leaving no room for anything else and making poor money choices.

i ran out of money in 9 days - and played conservatively.

I had a bunch of money at the end of the month, but I wasn't good at being legal, or paying my bills :^D

It could be a fun game, and be generally useful for people who want to have an idea of what it's like to live in different areas, and with different incomes, but it would take a huge amount of effort to make.

meh it was pretty easy, I just had to apply responsible financial decisions and I didn't even use up the bonuses.
I had 130$ remaining and all bills were paid.

Anyway it's useful to raise awareness of what the challenges of the working poor are.

I have chest pains and even though I'm an otherwise healthy 20 year old it's a dangerous decision if I choose to ignore it?

Came out with $287. It was a bit weird. Seriously, who has so many weird expenses in one month? Sure, paying bills and and food and rent is fine, but who has all that stuff happen to them in 1 month?

I've been in a bad situation in the past and was able to play the game through with having money until the end of the month. It sucks, though, and the game makes several good points. It sucks when you are in that situation, something comes up (such as the car accident with the dented bumper) and you want to do the right thing but you don't have the money.

I would like the option to sell your kid.

A kid with no other paycheck coming in should mean the kid is a asset. :p

I lost when I had to pay 50 dollars to have the animal put down.

Why is there no option to "take it out back" instead of letting it suffer?

...why would you have an animal at all if you are poor/jobless?

That's why I gave it away the first chance I got.

Made it with over $300 at the end of the month, even though I lost my job and car half way through the month. Sorry if my kid got made fun of, but being poor is not really shameful, when facing a system rigged to concentrate wealth. I imagine my kid would get even more beat up for assuming it is possible that greedy people want to make sure they have the most amount of money possible.

I got the kid needs new shoes question. It wasn't even a question of what I'd do. Trendy shoes, or discount? I always bought from the thrift shop, and money wasn't a problem. They should have made it interesting, and gave the option of duct tape :^D

Made it with $846 at the end of the month. Ignored some bills and did some things that were questionably legal, though...
