My wife downloaded some kind of program from Nielsen//NetRatings and this thing was nasty. It took about 5 minutes for the computer to boot and after it was up it was painfully slow.

I thought it was a virus but it wasn't picked up with virus scan so I uninstalled the program and after that the computer runs fine, I'm not sure if it was spyware or what but it was nasty.

Just a heads up.
