Percent of people age 18+ who listen to people 6-12?

Zero :awe:

No way... Many kids aged 6-12 can usually count on a rich uncle or divorced parent with a guilty conscience to pony up for the big ticket X-Mas gifts. :)

That said, I still expect a ton of sub $250 Android tables to show up in people's stockings this year.

and 99% of them get pissed when their parents bring them home a knock off android tablet because the salesmen said its 'Just like an iPad :p'

99% of them don't know what an iPad is, other than its 'magical'. :p

And if they did have one, it'd be used for casual gaming(Angry Birds), and sit collecting dust by New Years.

That's pretty much it. The real headline should read: "44% of US kids want to play Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja etc. on a tablet like their parents."

If anyone really thinks kids care all that much about being part of Apple or whoever's 'ecosystem', they're crazy.

Many kids aged 6-12 think iPad means tablet, just like many people think Kleenex means tissue. If you get them a fire or something else, you're still probably getting them what they want.

Also true. Most of these kids are going to get a Fire or Nook Tablet.

I can tell by replies that most don't have kids. 6-12 year olds know what's iPad or not. My 8yr old has her own and uses it everyday. So do my 3yr and 5 yr old nephews who share their own. The 3yr old however doesn't know the difference and he calls every tablet an iPad.

If I was a parent who had a child who wanted an iPad but they were too young to know the difference and I bought them a Fire and told them it was an iPad, jesus I'd feel like a dick. Reminds me of this guy I worked with @ Sony years ago, his wife wanted an iPhone, so he bought her a Chinese knock off T-Phone and gave it to her telling her it was an iPhone. At least at 1st she thought it really was lol.

Why would anyone tell their kid it was an iPad, and not a Fire?

Man, no wonder some kids are so messed up- their parents are afraid to actually be parents.

"I'm so ashamed of giving my 6 year old a present that costs $200 instead of one that costs $500!"

Poor, poor little Johnny. He'll probably lose all self-esteem and become a career criminal with such abusive parents that dare buy him $200 tablets! The horrors!

I heard a five year old today describing the difference between an ipod and an ipad. Kids these days.

My son is 28 now. When he was growing up we never spent over 100 - 150 bucks on Christmas presents for him.

I would rather have a sister in the whore house than an iPad.
