Is it just my imagination or is there no information as to how or where one can find this deal?

Neoken, I think raziel is just kidding about having gotten the drive as hinted by the end of his post.

Well, we now know it's in the "clearance section", we just don't know WHOSE clearance section.

In tribute to this intriguing yet incomplete post, I'd like to pull down Trifecta's pants and reveal to the world HIS "clearnace section" (j/k, damnit, I'm just joking!!) :)

Good site for $20 cdrom drives, grade B stuff , meaning scatched or physically damaged, tried to call to find out if new or used no live person answers phone at this time. 30 day warranty on clearance items.
I'll pass this time...till I need some CD Drives

you know, if this isnt refurbed and its only has scratches or dents....who the hell cares..
once its in your pc...it should still function like new. To me this is a good deal. Too bad I already have one.

YOU GUYS!!!

This drive is the same drive at www.teamexcess.com

both buy.com and teamexcess are getting it from the same supplier, the only difference is that they (teamexcess) are selling it for 110 instead of 150...

I would go with the 110

Trifecta: This isn't the same drive as BUY.COM. What I see on BUY.COM is a NEW drive, I see a GRADE B drive on your link. Too risky with an unknonw even with the discount in my opinion.

yes, it is a risk, but for 110, its probably worth it. I know these guys are saying that its grade b, but I bet you get a fully functional drive with no problems.

These kinds of deals can often be sketchy, but I have bought from them several times, and everything i have has worked without a hitch for well over a year.

youre right, these drives are different, but the models are basically the same.

Well this is a Sony OEM CDRW used by Dell and others. They are not bad at all, how ever, I've noticed problems with CDRWIN quiet frequesntly. I've made several coasters on two different systems with these CDRWs with CDRWIN. So two systems making coasters on similar drives on different bin/cue files. You make the decision. But all-in-all, it's a very good stable drive. Hope that helps.

OEM?! It said nothing about it on their site.

I just ordered one. Hope it'll arrive in good shape!

I feel ya..

The solution to the problem is to simply buy a plextor..hehe

I have burned about ahundered cds - NOT ONE COASTER YET!

That burner works AWESOME...

I still think this sony will be a nice little backup burner for the kids!

That teamexcess place? I don't see any CD-RWs there, just a bunch of DVD and CR-ROM drives.

went to teamexcess, clicked on clearence, then went to cdr/cdrw/dvd drives, and found a bunch of cd-roms and dvd drives... I guess they're sold out?
