Nice Response to my application

I emailed my resume to this guy because he told me he probably had positions open at his company. Then a week and 1/2 later I called him, with the number on his website, and it turned out to be his home phone number. I talked to his wife and asked her if there was a better number to leave a message at, she told me it was fine to leave it with her. I get an email today (I called last Thurs.) that says this:

I received your email and unfortunately there are no positions open at this time.
Please be advised not to call my home number which you used to try to contact me last week. I will keep your email on record in the case that a position is open.

Complete fvcking bs. Wait until I call him tomorrow.

Yes, I am sure calling him back and yelling at him will change his view of you, and he will be happy to hire you.

I'm not going to yell at him, I will tell him why I called his home. I have several friends including my g/f who got internships by emailing their resumes after contacting employers. I had spoken to him before I emailed it.

Am I the only one reading it as he's an idiot, but he's keeping your email so he can contact you in case he does have a position in the future?

😕 How's the view on the other side?

Geez, chill out. He wasn't rude or insulting, just making a request that you don't contact him at that number again. How old are you? I would immediately blacklist you from employment as having serious mental issues if you got all pissy about this.

A lot of employers don't want candidates following up by phone because of the sheer amount of time it takes to argue with certain irrational persons who can't accept that they didn't get the job.

The guy who replied to the email is an idiot for not making it clearer, but it sounds to me he just asked the guy not to call him at home anymore and he'll keep the email for information in case he gets a position in the future. wtf is wrong with some of you.

That's true, but if this is the case he shouldn't have listed his home number in the first place. What did he expect?

sound like a shady operation to me? he puts up a contact number on the net and then says "don't use it." ?

Yeah, I don't understand, it was the only one I could find. I wasn't "getting pissy" about this I thought it was messed up that he said that. Go figure.

Yeah, it's pretty messed up. Don't get too stressed; instead reflect on whether a job with such poorly organised management would be a good idea.

That said, a calmly worded email stating that only his home 'phone number is listed on the web-site would, I'm sure, be appreciated.

Maybe he uses the home phone for work and completely expects to get work related calls and was just trying to head off having a billion candidates call and "check in" once a day when he has nothing to tell them.
