If you like good metal, mix between Tool and some death metal band, listen to that band 😉

very good

i recommand the album Ghost Reveries,Lamentations,Damnation and Blackwater Park go listen to that

the song that totally blow me away: The Drapery Falls

go get some and tell em what you think about that band, i think they rock!!!

both.Very melodic voices on the latest albums ( they were more death metal on their first albums ).You still hear some death metal voice in their song, but its more melodic now.

Im hook on their music, and planning to go get ticket to go see them, they are comming in my town in 2 weeks like.

Me?

Not really. Mikeal does both the "death growl" and clean signing, often quickly changing back and forth within the same song. Maybe not "grunting", but it's a very gutteral style that is very "death metal" at times.

hmm, maybe I'll check them out... I can't deal with much death metal grunt though.

Not to thread hijack, but what does everyone think about Isis? Rumor is they'll tour with Tool next year...

I heard that Tool is coming out with a new CD hopefully by next summer, so that would make sense that they would tour.

He does it very well live. I was amazed at the vocal range he has.

Progressive?

When i hear progressive, i think progressive trance 🙂

I somehow don't think that's what this thread is about 🙁

Opeth is an awesome band. I'd like to suggest Agalloch or Insomnium for being somewhat in the same vein as Opeth. Both are good, but good in different ways than Opeth.
