B&M only. Found this little shop while driving around the other day. ENU computers at 122nd & Sandy. Promise 66 cards for $21 (Comp usa wanted $50 if you can believe that). DIMM 128MB SDRAM PC133 $54 etc. They have a site here but do not have online ordering. Not a super hot deal really, just good prices if you live around here. And NO, I am NOT afilliated, just passing the word.

It's just a little place with 2 or 3 geeks inside but they offered some tech help with my purchase.

I work at 102nd and Burnside. Maybe I will have to drop by one of these days.

There are a couple of stores here that although they don't have prices competetive with the FS/FT forums. Have really good service.

Pacific Solutions is one, it was on Division in SE, but has moved to Powell.
Belmont Computers (I think) it used to be ND computers which was run by morons, but they sold out to this guy. I stopped in to pick up a box for shipping one day and he was really nice.

Hmm, bit far from Albany . . . eh, I might stop by before I fly back up to Bellingham, though.

By the way, Jackel, a promise 66 card adds support for UDMA-66 . . . means that if you hard drive could ever spit out data that fast, you could get a transfer rate of 66 megs/second. You can also modify these cards pretty easily so they act as RAID cards, too. I use one 'cause I needed the extra ide slots, I have too much stuff in my computer. :D

Wow...those prices [listed on their website] aren't too shabby. Considering we don't have to pay tax makes it that much better. =)

Looks like it's time to upgrade to a T-birg 1.1ghz cpu/motherboard combo. =)

These are great people! Been going there for years. Another nearby and much bigger and professional is PcHeidens. Enu has a web page enuinc.com and pcheiden.com. PcHeidens is right across the street from Intel, Jones Park Maybe? Enu is friendlier and much less busy and has a better return policy. PcHeidens is bigger with more stock and better products and does online ordering. Also Enu has Portland and Hillsboro locations don't know about online ordering.

Wow, it's so cool to know that all you people are probably within 10 minutes of where I live. Pacific solutions is a great little joint on 52nd & Powell, the guys in there are really knowledgeable and real friendly. They've got demo systems and stuff set up too that you can play Quake3 arena and Everquest on. Bought an A-Top 900 case from them last week for $89 and am in the process of finding stuff to put in it. Probably going to snag a Duron 750 for $77 from them. They've also got sticks of 256MB PC100 Cas2 ram for $114... which ain't to shabby either.

I used to work there when it was E.C.S. or Eickenberry computer service. They bought out Marcus and have done a great jobon the store. They also have an online store. I used to spend alot of evenings network gaming there!
P.s. Enable your profile, then everyone can see where your from

I live like 10 blocks away from Pacific Solutions, used to live the same distance from ENU in Hillsboro till I moved about a month ago. Been buying from ENU for about three years now, along with some stuff from PC Heidens, MicroExpress, and Pacific Solutions. I also just picked up an A-Top 900 case from Pacific Solutions with an AMD approved 300 watt power supply to install my new 1gig T-bird and MSI Pro2A into. I love this case so far, took a little getting used to not using screws to install the drive rails hehe.

Another good place to try is East Wind Computers, they are on Burnside behind Hillcrest in Gresham.

ENU is a good place to buy if you know what you are looking for and are there for their short business hours. I wouldn't send a newbie there as they tend to be @$$holes when ya deal with them on that level.

I used to go to Pacific Solutions all the time until they sold me a motherboard with the wrong cable pack and argued with me over it. Replace the stinking cables and that all I ask! Never gone back, and quit referring to them (which was often).

Now if I get referral questions from newbies I tell them to either go to Fry's or CompUSA. Heck, I even tried that Budget Computers that has the radio show on 1080 AM and that place was a joke.

What I would LIKE to see is someone local who will carry decent HSF's. I called around looking for GlobalWIN's last year and every single person I talked to had no idea what they were or why I wouldn't want a cheapo HSF.

I live in Salem and was in a pinch last week for an ABIT KT7-Raid. I ended up going to PCHeidens and picking one up. First time there, not a bad place, prices weren't all that bad. Thanks to all for giving me more options to check out in the Portland area. Anyone have a good line on Monitors? Looking for a place to get good 19" monitors. Using Best Buy now.

Also I own a small computer retail business in Salem. Mainly online sales, and word of mouth local stuff. Don't have a business location, but if anyone is looking for parts and wants to drive to Salem, or have me ship them up to Portland I think I can usually beat any of the local guy's price. I also carry good Heat Sink/Fan Combos. Thermaltake Golden Orb (Socket 370 Intel), Chrome Orb(Socket-A AMD), and smaller Chrom Orb (for KT7 and KT7-Raid) for $16, GlobalWIN FOP32 - $19.
