Great find. When did 256 MB appear. I've got three sticks of the 128 MB OC'd to 166MHZ.

I just checked this on Pricewatch as well, and ordered 256 kingmax from Componentsdirect.com for $119 plus $10 shipping. WOW!

Trunc.

truncate,

how did you get it for 119? The web site says 165. Any clues? Thanks.

I checked pricewatch also and the lowest price i see is 168.

Also which states does ComponentsDirect charge tax to? Thanks.

All KingMax PC133 SDRAM are CAS Latency 3 rated. I will not trust any vendor who advertises KingMax SDRAM as CAS2 memory. They should be listed as CAS3 memory and priced accordingly. That is what make them such a good buy.

I have owned 2 PC-133 KingMax ver. 1.2 and two PC-150. All of them run very stable at 140 FSB and CAS2, but they are not rated as CAS2 above 100 FSB.

Whoa! I guees the race is to the swift. It was listed on pricewatch at $119, so I called Trunc.Compenentsdirec.com to verify, since a lot of merchants have dual pricing: Pricewatch prices for us deal seekers, and web pricing for the masses. I had him confirm the price of $119, and then I ordered. It might be worth it to call them, but seeing as they aren't even listed any more under 256mb kingmax, I wonder if they have anymore at that price. I bought it only a few hours ago, 7pm central time on Friday.

Now I don't feel so bad, since I bought a stick of 256 just a week ago at $169, and right now that seems to be where the price is at.

"Let me point out that Kingmax?s PC133 is only rated at CAS 3 according to their specs on their TinyBGA web page. But, when I asked John Shu (Kingmax?s memory product manager) about this, he told me that that is the minimum they will function at. I agreed with him because I had mine set at CAS 2-2-2 at 133 fsb and it ran flawlessly. He also told me that wafer used is the absolute best available right now. These modules are guaranteed stable at 133 but it?s pretty much a given that they perform as well beyond that speed! I was able to boot into Windows 2000 at 715 (143fsb) @ CAS 3-2-2 but my AGP was pretty unstable at that point so I didn?t run any benchmarks. I?m sure it would do much better if there weren?t limitations with my motherboard. "http://www.thetechzone.com/reviews/ram/kingmax/page3.htm

If you are worried about the speed, then get the PC-150 256mb ram and it will do pc133 at cas 2 easy and even more. I only have 128mb PC-150.
Got it from Mwave.com , I think they also the PC-150 in 256mb slabs.

Well this memory run stable with a ASUS A7V or ABIT KT7 w/ or w/o RAID? I have always wondered what CAS2 and CAS3 and 3-3-3 meant, are those settigns done through the BIOS? And is there much comparable difference between memory running at 133mhz, or 100 or 150?

any info would help
thanks

Tried to order with ComponentsDirect. Asked for Kingston 256MB PC150 RAM and told him the price I found ($119) and placed the order. The CS was sleepy when he took my order. Called next day to confirm, and he says the order is for PC133 RAM, and they cannot sell PC150 for that price, it's below their cost. Cancelled the order.
