Nice muffler comparison test.

So, essentially, every single muffler tested performed the same when the dyno's margin of error is factored in. Your average dyno just isn't precise enough to reliably tell a difference of 10 hp on a car that's already putting ~370 hp to the wheels.

Exactly.

Better exhaust will only ever reap benefit if the car needs it. If you add a turbo and better flowing exhaust manifold on a B18C5 for example, you'll want a 2.5" setup with a nice muffler, as it will be a good matchup.

But yeah, for the most part, exhaust upgrades alone are dumb, unless you're looking for noise/look.

I'm not sure any of these would be worth it. The quietest is 110db at WOT and the the loudest is 120, even at 2000rpm which is very slow street driving, 90-103 is ridiculous. What this means is that at 2000rpm, the quietest sounds like a subway station and the loudest is something like a pneumatic drill 10 feet away. At WOT, it's either a propeller or jet plane taking off. I don't understand how anyone could stand that noise.

If your intentions are garnering as much police attention as possible and pissing off all your friends and family, these are the ones for you.

wow.this is nice. guess i should really test a muffler before doing some replacements. And more importantly, i should read/watch instructional materials on how to replace a muffler.
