Nice laptop. 2.8 lbs and full-function: Panasonic Toughbook W2

my other two laptops are already exhibiting various problems, screen/hd corruption etc. think i'll get a t ough book next time. hm same size/weight as my sony almost.🙂

One major problem with this unit though is the damn integrated video. I'm not a big gamer, but 32 fps at 1024x768x32 in Quake III is almost as bad as my PIII 600 Rage 128 laptop from 3 years ago. But at 2.8 lbs, I guess something had to go.

If you're buying a ultralight laptop because you want to play games on it...you've got some problems 😉

Well, I'd be happy with a laptop under 4 lbs if it were cheaper and had better video. 2.8 lbs is killer, but I'm not sure it's worth spending the extra $ and foregoing the better GPU.

I currently have a 5 1/2 lb laptop (incl. battery) with 1280x854 15" screen, DVI output, DVD burner, 60 GB drive, and Radeon 9000 however. I don't think I'd want to go any heavier than this, but it's OK for weight. Under 5 lbs would be preferred however for a machine with closer to these types of specs.

ditto on the sucky video...and i bet this sucker is gonna gost 3k$ +, panasonics arent cheap...esp toughbooks.
