Nice! Job interview!

I'm graduating in December (electrical engineering) and I was just contacted by Kiewit for an interview one week from tomorrow.

I'm excited because I think it will be a cool job, but I'm nervous because I don't want to mess up the interview.

Any interview tips? Any, please?

Thanks

get high first? lol

just kidding..

be yourself, dress nice, and make sure you research about the company and the position

If it is a technical interview, make sure you know your stuff.

I just had a phone interview with intel and they asked me stuff from a class i took 2 years ago.

If you can show a genuine enthusiasm for the job that's a real plus. Have some examples of things that you're passionate about in the field and relate them to the position that is being offered to you. If they ask situational questions remember that even a very small thing that _you_ did is better than a big important project that you were only peripherally involved in. When they ask those questions, they don't want to know what your group did, they want to know what _you_ did and a specific example, even if it's minor, is much better than a generic response even if that generic response is about a larger project.

Go in there with some knowledge of the position and some basic questions about it or the company. If your curious about some specific implementation of some electrical engineering concept, ask them what they think about it. They want to see: 1) That you're not a dumbass (this is a baseline and you shouldn't worry about it) 2) That you've proven your ability to think (hence situations about _you_ and not about a group) 3) That you have an interest in the field and enjoy it and 4) That you'll fit in with the personality profile of their team.

Get high, eat some shrooms and take a hit of DMT. That should put you in the right state of mind.

What are you, 15?

I would like to thank everyone that had some useful input. 🙂

make sure you really really research the company

not only what they do, but their sources of revenue, business plan, hell maybe even stock price

news on the company, the industry in general, etc

what is the business model of the company, how is it going to grow? etc etc..

these might also be good questions to ask in the interview
