Nice to see you're getting a decent heatsink for your money, although I'd still go OEM as I have an XP190C cooler.

wow nice.. that has to be a first from either AMD or Intel, to use heatpipes and copper .. wonder how that performs if OCing with the stock cooler

yeah, since they're charging an arm and a leg for those chips I figured they'd bundle the fx heatsink. I actually mentioned it on the THG forums (yes, I know, shame on me) but I think my post got lost between all the flamebait.

That heatsink looks fantastic. X2s may not even need an after market cooler for OC'ing. Great. :)

The X2 copper heatsink looks a bit different from the FX-55 heatsink.

You can find pictures of the FX-55 heatsink in this GamePC article.

The sides of the FX-55 heatsink don't seem to be made out of copper, where as the X2 heatsink seem to have their sides made out of copper.

Sorry, it's better :p. AMD seems to go overkill on the first versions of the A64 heatsinks then cuts back when they're sure they can.

it's actually the same as the fx cooler, the sides LOOK like copper because the aluminum is very reflective.

anyone know how quiet that fan is? I don't really care about overclocking, I just don't want to hear the thing.

edit - I just read the GamePC article and it seems it may. Probably not as much as my Zalman though. I'm sure I'll fiddle with both of them ;)

Looks good, but I will stay with my XP90. Shout be here today ! And it could be the retail chip was delayed due to HSF's not being available instead of the actual chip ??
