i know i know...but i really need something for my mother and thought hey i'll let people scold and badger me, even if i don't get a reponse about the gifts. worth a try....isn't it? :confused:

That really isn't a bad idea. Both my parents are on computers and the internet and they started at 62 and 72 respectively.

Barring that, getting her one of the new internet surfers or email devices would allow her to write to friends and relatives.

On a different note:

When TJMaxx carried gourmet foods, I bought a nice basket and filled it to the brim with gourmet versions of her favorite foods. Syrups, jellys, sauces, cookies, etc. Put a small bottle of Drambui on top and she was in heaven. She just mentioned yesterday how dad had found her stash of the last raspberry syrup she had hidden away. This was one of my best. And she could use the basket.

It's your own mother :) haven't you lived with her long enough to know what she would want? It's most meaningful if the gift idea comes from the heart. ;)
