WASHINGTON (Variety) - Clear Channel was roughed up on Capitol Hill Thursday, with several lawmakers accusing the sprawling radio giant of refusing to play the songs of artists who don't use its concert promotion division.

About damn time. I'm sick to death of them stifling the music industry and sick to death of hearing the same songs, over and over, regardless of what station I'm listening to or what city I'm in. :|

Amazing that they think this makes business sense. Getting to the point, who listens to any radio anymore because of it. If Advertisers finally wake up and stop spending money at ClearChannel you'll see another huge bankruptcy case in America and we'll get radio back

I don't listen to the Radio anymore, because ClearChannel bought out every major radio station here, and all they play are the same songs over and over and over.....

So I just bust out my CD's I can't remember the last time I listened to the radio.

I just want some effing variety back. A rotation of 30 songs 24-7 just doesn't cut it. :|

Exhibit A: Our local CC station's playlist.

Look familiar?
