well, I've went out and bought a six pack of some sam adams light to see if it's better than the crappy Amstel I just finished off. It's not bad, actually better IMO than regular Sam Adams. It has a nice amber color and has a decent head on it when poured. It's not as carbonated as Amstel Light and has a slight hops taste that's barely noticeable. It goes down easy and still tastes like a beer. A lot of light beers taste watery but this one is different.
Of course I had to compare it with a couple of test subjects. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the best and 1 the worst, Amstel rated a 3, Sam Adams Light rated a 6, and the Sierra Nevada Pale Ale was an 8.5. I got the SN from a friend who brought over a six pack. Now that's a good beer.
Note: I didn't drink all of those beers in one sitting. I had what was left of the Sierra Nevada yesterday, and still have a couple Amstels and 5 of the Sam Adams left. I'm not an alcho...hic...alco...hic...I'm not a drunk!
