Pretty cool. I despise foxbodies though. always thought they were a brick. Probably because most of the ones I see are rusted out V6's that can hardly stay on the road.

Stock they are teh suck. Fortunately, there are endless options for upgrading stuff. I did a ton of suspension mods before I did much to the motor, and it's at the point now I could do some weekend road racing if it weren't my daily driver. You can just do simple bolt ons, or put in a completely new suspension...depends on how much you spend.

Personally, I enjoy having mine because there are none of them on the road up here anymore, so my car doesn't look like everything else on the road today.

🙂

Now it looks like everything in the junkyard. 😛😉

I put a 351C into a 80 Mercury Capri. Only took a summer to do but it was nowhere as clean and probably less streetable also. Couldn't hold the 4 barrel open too long cause it would drain the carb due to the fuel line being too small to the tank 🙂. Broke motor mounts even after chaining them. Eventually sold the engine and put in a .040 over 302 in it.

I'd love to stick that motor in my Focus. And yes, it does fit without any mangling of the firewall.

LMAO!

I once knew this guy when I was in HS that decided it would be a good idea to put a 350 out of a corvette, into a chevette.....not the brightest guy. 😉

Anyway...after all the work, he took it out on the street, mashed the gas, and promptly twisted the frame like a pretzel.

😀😀

I thought the same thing . . . I remember hearing the Car Talk guys talking about the VW Fox, and they joked that it was like a Volkswagen made by GM, in terms of being kind of insubtantial.

I'd love to have that '03 Cobra powerplant in my S197...or a 5.0 cammer crate motor...or the GT's 5.4L S/C. Oh well, a 3V 4.6 with warranty isn't so bad either 😉

I have an extra Turbo Buick motor - tring to convince my buddy to put it in THIS, an 81 VW P/U. We plan on mounting it in the bed, using a Toronado transaxle, and substantial frame improvements.
