Hi All,
I have a couple of ? about the settings for my NIC. In Device manager under the NIC Properties/Advanced tab, what are the following?
Coalesce Buffers (numerical value currently set at "8")
Enable PME (enabled/disabled, currently "disabled")
PCI Bus Efficiency (enabled/disabled, currently "disabled")
I mainly am wondering if the settings will somehow increase increase performance?
Also, I notice that when I change "PCI Bus Efficiency" to "enabled", I have to reboot and the NIC IRQ changes?
Disabled it's on IRQ9, sharing with my Soundcard and 1 of the USB Controllers, enabled on IRQ 12 ( alone, I use a USB mouse so "12" is free). Note that all devices work, no problems.
The NIC is an Intel Pro 100 VE, I have a small home LAN, Cable to Netgear RT 314 router, no problems with either WAN or LAN operations, just wondering what these settings do.
TIA,
Mike G
