I will be getting cable in 2 weeks and will be doing the install myself. After readig the responses to another post about Cable modems (USB vs. Ethernet) I followed advice and got an NIC. Linksys 10/100 Etherfast LAN card at Staples for $20. I now have it installed but have a few questions.
1. It looks like the NIC and my SB Live are using the same IRQ yet windows reports NO conflicts. Will this be a problem?
Window reports the folowing:
NIC: IRQ 10
Memory Range 08000000-080003ff
Input/Output 1400-14ff
SB Live: IRQ 10
input/Output 1000-101f
2. Will I need to have Client for Microsoft Networks installed when I get my cable?
