I kind of matters on what chipset the NIC uses. Does it use the Realtek or 3COM or Intel or other chipset? If it is any of the three I mentioned, you should have no problem with using the NIC with an ACPI enabled BIOS, thus sharing IRQ's.

I beg to differ. My 3C905 would NOT work with ACPI and WIN2K. I have the ABIT BX133 Raid and when the NIC was on IRQ11, along with most other PCI cards and the HPT Raid controller, my NIC would cause failures in Network Neighborhood and Windows Explorer. Once I removed ACPI, my system is working fine, and my NIC no longer shares any resources. So, it all depends on particulars.
As Always,

What version is your 905? If it is version 905C-TX I would disagree with you completely. I had no problems with any of the 905 series (A, B, or C). Make sure that you have the 5.3 drivers running on your system and that you do have SP1 installed.
