I got a pair of semi-old Intel 10/100 NIC cards. I install them in friends Dell P2-450 and Dell P2-300. It works for 2 days, now both machine won't boot. They're not networked but just has the card in it. It was working when I left but later it started to get stuck after the mem check.

I haven't seen the machine yet, but last time I was there, no IRQ conflicts or I/O. Working great. Anyone has any idea?

& These are not those management adapters I was giving away, these are a bit older.

Depending on the OS(as well as the card), network cards most of the time aren't really initialized unless they are plugged into a network. They still will take up IRQs, but if they are causing the computers not to boot...I would only suggest taking them out and trying different cards. You said both were old cards...this could be a compatibility setup. Also, if the computers weren't setup on a network they may have never really worked anyhow. Did you test em?
