Ok everytime i cold boot my computer windows(2k) doesn't recognize i have a nic card in the computer at all
(and i made sure it was seated right)
but if i just restart it after that it works just fine....its only been doing this for the past week or so.....and has never had problems of this nature before

and these problems started occuring after i put in another hd ??? maybe because of the hd or just coincidence

dell 600mhz
512 ram
geforce 3 64mb
smc ez 10/100 nic
have att cable and linksys router

there might be problem with system resource or conflict with some other component. Next time when it fails to recognize your NIC Go to "Device manager" and check the status under "Network adopter" if you have your NIC listed and if it is listed if there is any resource conflict. and weather the system has desabled it automatically.
