NIC card, do i need one?

I am builiding a computer, i need to know
since i have DSL connection, and i plan to use it on the new computer, if i need a NIC card for that?
If yes, what kind and what brand should i get

Yes you do. I would recommend asking your DSL provider what brand they support. If you have no clue about ethernet cards you might just want to buy one from them. I know it isnt cost effective but if you dont get it from them you are going to be hard pressed to get any kinda support. I actually worked for the IT department at Clemson University and we only supported 3com's directly. I personally loved to walk upon a linksys, or Dlink myself. Never had any problems with those one bit. I Think that if you go to buy.com they are still selling a linksys 10/100 mb LAN card for 20$, and there is a 10$ rebate. If you use a 10$ off coupon you can get it for free. Maybe that will get you started. Cut me an email if you have some other questions.
