I love this time of year. And thank God they pre-empted the farking basketball game that had 5 mins left. We all know that woulda taken another half hour. God I hate basketball.

Oh yeah.. hockey... youngstars on the ice baby ! Rick Nash at 19 years old leading the entire league in goals.

Any guesses for hardest shot or fastest skater later on ?

WTF no hockey fans ? I suggest anyone not into hockey take a look at this youngstars game and see what talent is out there. Some of the moves these teenagers make are jaw-dropping. ESPN - now.

Meh, the all star weekend isn't really all that great. 14-12 is my prediction.

Yeah. JR won it last year as well, but it was on 6 shorts.

Luongo, though -- wow.

And St. Louis is always a treat to watch, although I thought he would have had fastest skater nailed.

I love shooting off the wrong foot for wristers... that's why I play the LW as a right-handed shot. That's what JR did for this competition this year and last... less power, but great for aim.

The all-star game isn't that fun, you're right... I just like to see the skills the night before.

Wow that was a heck of a goal by St. Louis in the breakaway competition. That guy can fly. I still don't understand why the defensemen didn't shoot more during the "in the zone" competition. I'm pretty sure Blake or Lindstrom could have gotten one if they'd taken a shot.

I didn't care much for that one.

Yeah, I hate it, too, so it's unfortunate that I end up playing LW with a left-handed shot.

I find it pretty difficult shooting across my body ... tried RW many times and the space you're given to cut across the middle is limited so the shooting angles are cut down also. I don't know why they term it "off-wing" when it's actually easier to shoot coming from the side your blade is facing the net at. *confused*. Some of the best players play from the off-wing... Jagr (lefty-RW), Bondra (lefty-RW), Shanahan (right-LW), Gaborik (lefty-RW). Messier and his patented left-handed wrister comes down the RW all the time and let's it fly off the "wrong foot". I think they need to re-think the term. :)

Then you have a guy like Hull blasting from the RW as a righty and scoring 76 goals in a season somehow. Notice how he plays the LW on the PP nowadays. ;)

I think it's still "wrong foot" just because power is a lot these days as well, and you get less of it off that foot.

Meh, Hull is an exception; all the great ones are ;).

And Gaborik is having a terrible season; bad karma, I guess.
