Going to have to disagree with you on the reason why Detroit had a lot of success on their penalty kills Train. I think it was more a product of the Coyote's lack of special teams play all season long. They ranked 23rd in PPG this past season. And while I'm the first to say that you can throw out stats about the regular season in the playoffs, you still need solid special teams play.

Detroit had it last night
Phoenix did not

While I agree the Coyotes Power Play sucked, it doesnt change the fact that DET's penaltly kill was a work of art. I haven't seen Datsyuk this alive since February.

What an exciting end to the Sharks - Kings game. Good chances on both sides in overtime and then the Sharks bring home the win.

Pavel loves to be in this role. Give him space on the ice and he'll dazzle you with his moves, then five-hole the goalie while splitting defensemen. I love that guy. Can't wait to see Zetterburg out there. But we may have to wait til next week. Depending on their play in Phoenix next week, Mike may want to keep Zetts on the bench. A refreshed Zetterburg + Pavel = lethal 1-2 combo.

Oh, and word is out that this will be Mike Modano's last post season. He's looking to retire after this season. Good news for the prospects down in the AHL. Link to story.
"I'm excited about the playoffs. I think it's going to be my last one. I'm definitely trying to get as prepared and as excited as I can possibly be knowing it's my last real run at something. It's my last chance." - Mike Modano

I think the defence is best asset the Canucks have

Bieksa-Hamhuis
Edler-Erhoff
Salo-Ballard

😱

Edler just came back from back surgery too, he was hitting like a champ.
Isn't Ham still out? But yes, Vanc's defense is great this year and will be the difference.

Flyers really need Pronger... they aren't going to win tight games without him, and without jamming the hell out of Ryan Miller more. Bob had a pretty solid game last night, not too shabby.

Detroit will be golfing soon enough, probably not the Yotes but the Sharks will take them out for the second year in a row.

The only difference is, in Detroit all the golf courses suck because the city has no money to take care of them.

Shit from his last few interviews it sounds like he has already retired in his mind.

Figures the biggest Wings haters would come from Denver.

They just can't stand that the short lived rivalry ended when the Avs stopped being relevant.

What happened the last time the Wings and Avs met in the playoffs? 4-0 Series sweep. And the time before that? A 7-0 beatdown to take the West.

I know a lot of players would hate it, but the NHL just needs to go to football style helmets.

Tighter fit on the head, with a minimum 1 bar out in front of the face. It's way to easy for the helmet to come off, or be hit at such an angle to be made useless, And it's way too easy to take the top of the boards (or a stick) to the face.
