NHL Hockey Prospects - Ranking out

The kid at #19 (Alex Bourett) is a good kid too, been over to play poker and what not with a bunch of us.
A few of the other guys on their team (THe Lewiston Maineiacs) are on the list and visit the house all the time.

The kid who lives with me got named to the CHL top 40 prospects team this week, he heads out to Vancouver to play for the week with the top players in the world....pretty cool if you ask me.

Yup, I noticed there were a lot of D players...and some of these kids are big...getting bigger each year!

There will be an NHL again, I thinkt hat the players and the leauge will realize (after this year anyway) that they cant live without each other...if they all want to make the big paychecks, then this crap will have to end...even they know it..

Wouldn't that be my dream... the Caps have Ovechkin and Crosby... not gonna happen though... they will likely randomize it amongst the worst teams again with another weighted lottery. The NHL hasn't decided yet... and besides, a draft will not happen until a new collective bargaining agreement is reached.

It's just that he is WAY to protected in the Q right now, you look at him and you get a two game suspension...whats he going to do when he goes to the NHL?

I was weary of this problem ... Ovechkin likes to play the body so I wasn't worried about him... I thought Crosby was too small and too fragile... no fight against the boards, but the 1 game I saw him on TSN during the WJCs, he was battling like everyone else... fighting for his own puck and skating through checks... was impressive... but his stats declined after the first couple of games for some reason (I didn't get to see). I know NHL defensemen are bigger and stronger but it's good to know that Crosby isn't backing down. And like you said, these kids will continue to grow...

I thik the kid I know is being looked at by the Rangers or the Islanders..not sure which to be honest..guess I better ask him! I keep telling him he's going to the Bruins.

Crosby is good, there is no doubt about it, but I dont think he can stick with the physical play, and he's a dirty little sh#t to boot. the slashing king!

RIMOUSKI, Que. (CP) - Junior hockey star Sidney Crosby will skip Wednesday's Top Prospects game in Vancouver because of a back injury.

Crosby's club team, the Rimouski Oceanic, made the announcement on its website Monday.

Crosby suffered the injury during the world junior hockey championship, which ended with Canada winning the gold medal on Jan. 4.

NHL Central Scouting has ranked Crosby the No. 1 prospect for the 2005 NHL draft if it isn't cancelled due to the current lockout.

The Prospects Game showcases players who are eligible for the NHL draft and Crosby was to be the showpiece of the game. His on-ice meeting with Western Hockey League star Gilbert Brule added to the interest.

Crosby played in the four of five Oceanic games after the world junior championship ended, recording six goals and nine assists.

The 17-year-old sat out Friday's game in Charlottetown before scoring two goals and adding four assists in front of a sellout crowd in his hometown of Halifax on Saturday. He had a goal and an assist Sunday in Moncton.

Crosby was unable to play for the Quebec Junior Hockey League team in the Canada-Russia Challenge Series in November due to an ankle injury and he also missed four Rimouski games in October with a knee injury.

Crosby had six goals and three assists in six games for Canada at the world junior championship. His red team jersey that he wore in the gold-medal game went missing from his hockey bag en route to Rimouski after the tournament. The shirt was later recovered. A former Air Canada employee is facing charges.
