NHL Free Agency Thread

Over the next 2-4 weeks there is sure to be a lot of activity around the NHL, so I thought it would be best to keep all of it in one thread. So post whatever here regarding free agency.

Last night: Zubov resgiend with Dallas - 3 years, $12 million. I'd say he was about half a million overpaid, but not too bad for a very good D-Man.

Zubov... man I remember back when he was a Ranger. I think he actually led the team in scoring the year they won the cup.

I'm excited to see some big names swap teams too... even though my Capitals will be doing jack sh!t.

Boston Bruins: Acquired left wing Brad Isbister from the Edmonton Oilers for a fourth-round pick in the 2006 draft.

No way did he lead the Rangers in scoring that year. I always thought Zubov pulled in around 20 goals a year with the Rangers.

Leetch was the highest scoring defensman, and I don't know who the highest overall was, but Graves had over 50 goals, and Messier may have been around that same mark.

Isbister used to be good.

Hopefully the Rangers will go and make some good deals this offseason.

wow! maybe they'll try to get Fleury too and make an old-school run at the cup 🙂

He's playing in Belfast 😉

I'm on pins and needles waiting to see if Forsberg sticks with the Avs. There is talk of Naslund and Forsberg working together to end up in the same place...possibly Vancouver.

I also heard that one about the Rangers (DAMN NO I WILL COMMIT SEPPUKU) also a rumor on Foresburg going to Toronto to play with Sundin.

I really hope Forsberg doesn't stay in Sweden. I can hardly blame the guy b/c he gets the crap beat out of him in the NHL due is part to his fearless attitude and in part b/c of the cheap shots and holding that used to be allowed. I hope they do away with that and we can see some classic Naslund, Sundin, Forsberg, and Sakic. Perhaps a group seppuku is in order if they wind up at the Rangers.

i love this... its like a fantasy draft, except real. lots of fun, and should be interesting to see the kind of teams we end up with 🙂

bruins made offers to thornton & samsonov... i'm personally getting sick of thornton and would rather they dump him, but sammy, if he stays healthy, is a keeper.

i also can't wait to see bergeron and raycroft this coming year... those two were some amazing young players.

Zubov had the most points that year. HockeyDB - 93/94 Rangers

Damn I knew Keenan wanted vets but damn......two 40 year olds.....fvck.I hope they make a big splash and get some talent other then vets to help the young kids.

I seriously doubt the Rangers. Who in their right mind would put Rangers and Cup potentials into the same sentence these days? Even with Naslund and Forsberg, Rangers just suck. I think the Avalanche or the Canucks with those 2 together would make much more likely contenders than the Rangers.

I just hope that Naslund stays. We were sooooo close to going somewhere. 🙁
