I am aware of a lot of horrible statements from members of the GOP. But is this not unlike the comments from the left that have to have long drawn out discussions of what they "really" meant? How many idiotic statements from the left do you have to ignore trying to point out the idiots?

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Give that sentence to some 10 year olds with poor English skills and let them argue over the meaning of it. What do these commas mean? Why didn't they put apostophes on random words? Why is Arms capitalized? (capitalized means it was defined somewhere else in the document)

We don't HAVE to have long discussions about what they meant from the left. What is said is usually extremely straight forward to anyone who reads at the level of your average 4th grader. The fact that the standard GOP voter and conservative P&N poster reads at the level of a retarded rhesus monkey isn't something everyone on the left who speaks should have to account for.

Hopefully this goes viral to the point that not only will it be acceptable to call all women vaginas in any and every circumstance, but it will actually be met with hearty laughter by all parties. It would be nice to be able to walk up to a strange woman in a bar and say "Hey, you are a good looking vagina!" and still be able to take her home that night.

I think your rendition of the 2nd is how Congress passed it... but, that is not how it was ratified and certified by Jefferson... as I recall..

There seems to be a subtle difference in what both are indicating... at least as I read it. And, it seems the 2nd Amendment is the only amendment to the Constitution which states a purpose. Well... that can be debated, I suppose.
