They told us it?s going to provide real support for the new 64-bit processors. They told us that the Microsoft Windows x64 Professional edition is coming very soon. But they didn?t emphasize the ugly fact.

Welcome to Drivers as in the Rest of the Computing World 101. And you guys aren't even having to ask for chipset documentation!

My frank advice is to suck it up. You get first priority anyway, so you shouldn't be whining about anything.

Whoever wrote this article has an obvious chip on their shoulder, and it really devalues this editorial down to a rant. Plus their failure to list what hardware they have that doesn't have an available driver does not help their position.

I installed it on someone's Laptop and everything went well.

I do blame the hardware companies for not getting moving in getting their drivers written.

I beta tested this OS from day one of the program and the only glaring driver issue that I had was that no TV tuners have 64bit drivers yet. And my tuner is an important peripheral in my system, one I can't comfortably go without.

I don't have an Athlon 64 system yet (although I will this summer), but there are not yet any 64-bit drivers for my HDTV tuner, so I can wait to upgrade my OS. 😛

sounds like the same stuff that was written when Win2k came out~ drivers, drivers, driverrs!

Don't worry that will be cured in time 😉

XP Pro is fine for me in the meantime. Hopefully the tuner manufacturers will get onboard soon and release drivers and software that work with x64.
