I thought about the same thing... All of his questions have been asked many times before, they could easily be solved with a little searching, and he never checks back in the threads.

WTF?????

Chill out guys! This is what these forums are for, to ask advise from more experienced members. No need to get your panties in a wad! No need to flame other members! :disgust:

Not again..........please!!!

Common it isn't that difficult....think for a while on the subject... I certain you can figure it out for yourself!!

The question you possed may seem simple but it's related to a lot of factors including the size of your hard-drive, the use
you'll be giving the system a others....

MightyJD:

I spend countless hours writing and researching FAQs.

There are links everywhere to them, and people just don't read them.

About 8500 of my posts have been from helping people...the last 500 or so have been pointing people to the FAQs. I help people, so why can't they return some of the favour and recognise the time and effort I and others have put into producing these articles? It's just a click or two away.

Perhaps you would like to manage the FAQs? Then you can experience some of the frustration that I feel when people ignore your work time and again.

Fine, choose to fake fun of your members. Just makes you look bad :)

Because someone overlooked some information doesn't mean they are up for flameage!

I have in no way made any fun of any member.

I have answered mikeshn's questions.....several times. He never replies back in his own threads, and never thanks anyone for the help that they give him.

MightyJD, perhaps you would like to make a contribution to the community and submit a FAQ. I'm sure that once you have some vested interest, you will view things differently.

There are many questions that get asked over and over again. Fat32 Vs NTFS is one of them. I think people should use the search function and check the FAQ before asking a question that has likely been asked many times such as the one above. There has been a great deal of effort put into the FAQ. It's there for a reason.

MightyJD I made fun of him. Not Andy. Go away. Im tired of answering this question and the FAQ links arent helping. And neither are you little pansies that cant handle a little flamage on a topic that has been covered to death a dozen times in the past MONTH or so. And no, I dont have to respond, but then what would be the use of posting a question if no one responded to it? Do a search on Mikeshn's threads. See if they are all legitimate questions. Until then, stop crying ya baby.

EDIT: Hell! He cant even spell NTFS right!

It doesn't matter, your boot loader for your flavor of linux should recognize NTFS or FAT32. Your choice of FAT32 or NTFS for your windows operating system depends on your purpose, supposely NTFS is faster, but i can't really tell difference, and also it you need to access your drive thru DOS, you sh#t up the creek if used all NTFS. Mandrake 8.1 has a good bootloader.

If you're really new to this and worried, just get removable hard drive racks and buy cheapie hard drive in the For/Sale forum. Just swap drive for you purposes. We use this technique a lot for software quality assurance for on the fly testing.

Oh, I want to apologize to everybody, i put Andy in bad mood, he realizes now that I have better taste in music and women :D
